SATURDAY, MARCH 18th

RACE START: 7:30 AM 

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:

6:00AM         Parking Shuttles Start / Packet Pick Up Opens

7:15 AM         Last shuttle leaves from parking to Start/ Finish Line

7:30 AM         RACE STARTS

8:45 AM         Awards Ceremony

9:55 AM         Last shuttle back to parking (No beverages are allowed on shuttle buses)

  • NO ON-SITE PARKING at Embassair is permitted.
  • ALL parking and shuttle instructions are below

PARKING INSTRUCTIONS AND LOCATION:  

There is no address for our specific Parking Area, the closest address for directions is:  Kenia’s Nursery, 13515 NW 42nd Ave, Opa-locka, FL 33054. There is NO PARKING at the actual start/finish location.

Participants will be shuttled to/ from the start/finish location. The shuttles will stage inside the airport access gate on the perimeter road. (See map below)

Miami-Dade Police will be stationed on NW 42nd Ave./ NW 135th Street to assist participants, guests and volunteers cross the street from parking area to the shuttle loading and unloading area.

Each pick-up and drop location, near the parking lot and near the Start/ Finish line, will be identified by a SHUTTLE banner.

Shuttle SCHEDULE/ ROUTE:

  • 6:00 AM Shuttles begin to the start line
  • 7:15 AM LAST shuttle to the start line
    • Shuttles will not operate during the 5K (7:30AM – 8:30AM)
  • 8:30 AM Shuttle to resume from Start/Finish Line back to parking
  • 9:55 AM Final shuttle from finish line to parking

RIDE SHARE:   

If you choose to use a ride share service, the drop off / pick up location is:

Embassair 13550 NW 47th Ave, Opa-locka, FL 33054.

PACKET PICK UP:

  • Race Day – March 18th – 6:00 AM – 7:25 AM
  • Location – Westside of the EMBASSAIR FBO Concourse – you do not enter the building.

There is NO PARKING at the host location (EMBASSAIR).  Participants will be shuttled from the designated off-site parking to the host location. Please do not attempt to park at the host location.

Runners will pick-up the following:

  • Race Bib Number
  • Custom Event T-shirt 

What to bring:

  • Valid ID – No ID, no access to the event
  • Phone

SECURITY SCREENING:
Confirm you have answered all the questions on the registration platform, and you have provided your citizenship status, last 4 digits of your social security number and/or passport number. If an issue or clarification arises, we will contact you. Airport will run a security check on all registered participants with this information.

Rules & Guidelines:

  • Each person must pick-up their own race packet. Friend or family are NOT permitted to pick up for others.
  • Airport security will use the information provided at the time of registration for vetting and security purposes.
  • There is NO GEAR CHECK. Please leave valuables at home
  • NO bags of any kind will be allowed on site (i.e. BACKPACKS, PURSES).
  • You may bring small fanny packs or arm bands to carry small items such as phone and ID.
  • If you do not have a valid ID, you will not be allowed access to the event.
  • Parents/Guardians will be allowed to pick-up minors.
  • K-9 units will be on-site.
  • No pets allowed.
  • Spectators do not have access to the runway.
  • All minor children must be accompanied by an adult at ALL TIMES

 

SECURED SUROUNDING AREAS:

Please DO NOT venture outside the designated run course area. Stay off the grass. This is a secure area, there will be no re-entry. Once you have received your packet and checked in you will not be allowed back to your car. Please make sure you have everything you need prior to entering the main event area.

Start Line:

Runners will be corralled prior to heading out to the start line. To gain access to the runway and the 5K you must have both your bib number fully visible on the front of your body. You may be denied access if you do not follow these instructions.

Water Stop:

We will have one (1) water stop on course that you will pass twice at approximately mile 1.75 and 2.75

NO Gear Check – Unattended Items:

Gear check will NOT be available. Do not store, hide, or leave any personal items along or near the racecourse, including the start and finish areas. You are responsible for safely storing your gear offsite prior to the race. Any items left unattended will be removed from the area and will not be made available later.

You will NOT have time to ride the shuttle back to your vehicle to drop anything off before the race starts. Please do not try.

Age Group Award Categories:

Male/Female 1st Place/Wheelchair Athlete

Male/Female – 1st/2nd/3rd place winners. Overall Age Group Awards, 14U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 75+

Post Race:

  • Beer Truck – MICHELOB ULTRA providing complimentary beer
    • 21 and over – beer tickets will be on your bib number
  • WAWA will provide complimentary snacks
  • Basic post-race nutrition will be available along with water, and electrolytes

Wawa is providing FREE race photos, these will be available to download post races on the website. (May take up to 5 -7 business days for these photos available)
